Medh膩tithi鈥檚 commentary (manubh膩峁a):
The 鈥�last watch鈥� stands for the 鈥�叠谤腻丑尘补-尘耻丑奴谤迟补鈥�, the 鈥榯ime sacred to Brahman鈥�; that it is so is indicated by the terms 鈥�having performed his ablutions鈥�, and 鈥�with collected mind鈥�.
鈥�Having poured the libations into Fire鈥�;鈥攖he performance of this act of Homa-offering is not to be done during the 鈥�叠谤补丑尘补-尘耻丑奴谤迟补鈥�; ince at that time four muh奴rtas (3 hours, 12 minutes) of the night would be still left, while the Homa-offering has been laid down as to be done when the night has dawned. So what all this means is simply鈥斺�榟aving accomplished all that is to be done at dawn鈥�.
鈥�Having honoured鈥� worshipped鈥斺��the Br膩hma峁嘺s鈥欌赌斺赌�he shall enter the auspicious Hall of Audience鈥欌�攅quipped with auspicious marks.鈥�(145)
