The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.23.298, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 298 of Madhya-khanda chapter 23—“Wandering about Navadvipa On the Day the Lord Delivered the Kazi�.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.23.298:

গঙ্গ�-তীরে তীরে পথ আছ� নদীযা� আগ� সে� পথ� নাচি যা� গৌ�-রা� � ২৯� �

गङ्ग�-तीरे तीरे पथ आछ� नदीया� आग� से� पथ� नाचि या� गौ�-रा� � २९� �

gaṅgā-tīre tīre patha āche nadīyāya āge sei pathe nāci yāya gaura-rāya || 298 ||

ganga-tire tire patha ache nadiyaya age sei pathe naci yaya gaura-raya (298)

English translation:

(298) Lord Ҳܰṅg first danced along the path on the bank of the Ganges in Nadia.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The location of the Ganges riverbed during the pastimes of Śrī Gaurasundara has been understood by a few devotees of ۴Dzīṻ, Śrīdhāma Māyāpur. Even today the remnants of that riverbed can be seen. The Ganges used to flow from the northwest through this riverbed.
