The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 1.7.1, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. श्री-परीक्षिद् उवाच�
इत्थ� �-परिवारस्� मातस� तस्यातिरोदनै� �
ब्रह्माण्ड� व्याप्� सञ्जात� महोत्पात-चय� क्षणात� � � �śrī-parīkṣid uvāca�
ittha� sa-parivārasya mātas tasyātirodanai� |
ṇḍ� vyāpya sañjāto mahotpāta-caya� kṣaṇāt || 1 ||Śī ʲīṣi ѲᲹ said: O mother, when Śī ṛṣṇa and his family began to cry pitifully in this way, then the sound of their weeping instantly engulfed the entire ṇḍ. Subsequently, various kinds of foreboding calamities such as shooting stars began to appear.

This seventh chapter describes the curtailing of Śī ’s illusion from the crafty tricks of Śī . Finally, this chapter describes the subject matter of the glories of the pinnacle of excellence of the DZī, in which Śī 岹 heard and described from the lotus mouth of Śī .
The crying of instantly spread all over the entire ṇḍ and many different types of foreboding calamities like bolts of lightning and “shooting stars� (spontaneous meteors) began to appear.
