teṣām abhīṣṭa ki tan me kathayatv avilambitam || 77 || Śī ṛṣṇa said: O best among the cultured, Śī Uddhava. You know all the intentions of the vraja-vāsīs. What are the desires of those people? Please tell me at once.
Commentary: Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā with Bhāvānuvāda
(By Śīla Sanātana Gosvāmī himself including a deep purport of that commentary)
“O Śī Uddhava, you are the best among refined scholars. The intent of this address is that you know all the desires of the Ჹ-ī. Therefore, what is their desire? Please, tell Me immediately. Just as Śī ٱ𱹲ī explained about the Ჹ-ī, with the intent of giving what they desired to the Ჹ-ī, Śī ṛṣṇa is asking this question to Śī Uddhava. Giving anything else, the fulfillment of the desires of the Ჹ-ī would not happen, so only by Śī ṛṣṇa’s going to Vraja would that happen. Himself also knew this. Nevertheless, only after hearing the reasonable words of His Գٰī-pravara (prime minister), Śī Uddhava, would it be correct to go to Vraja. “If I do like this then no one will be able to stop me. With only this intention, He is asking this question. However, the question raised in śǰ첹 68 arose only due to being overwhelmed with distress.
