तपस् त्वं तप एतेन तव सिद्धिर् भविष्यति
tapas ٱ� tapa etena tava siddhir ṣyپ
tvamЯdz; tapa ٲ貹�—must perform austerity; etena—by chanting this mantra; tavaЯdzܰ; �—d perfection; ṣyپ—will be achieved.
“O , perform austerity by this mantra. Thus your cherished desire will be fulfilled.� (25)

In this half śǰ첹 beginning with the words tapas tvam, instruction is being given on how austerity should be performed; that is, by the aforementioned method. According to the Third Canto of Śī-岵ٲ, jī heard the sixteenth and twenty-first consonants of the alphabet, namely ta and pa, combined to make the word tapa. Upon hearing this, he began to meditate on with one-pointed attention. At that time, by the mercy of , he heard the supreme monarch of mantras, the ṛṣṇa-Գٰ, spoken by the transcendental ī.
Goddess ī said,
“O , perform austerity by repeating this mantra with the utmost diligence. Thus all your heart’s desires will be fulfilled.�
