Jewellery hoard from Mandi—The chance discovery of gold jewellery from the ancient site of Mandi, District Muzafarnagar (western U.P), in association with other material of the Harappan genre, shot the site into prominence on the Harappan archaeological map of India. The discovery was in form of a large treasure of gold and silver ornaments besides ornaments of semi-precious stones. The villagers found the treasure in course of agricultural operations.

The gold jewellery, kept in the copper containers, consisted of big and small "heart shaped" Kara-S (bangles), spacers, terminals, conical beads, etc. This jewellery collection is comparable to those of Mohenjodaro, Quetta and Allahadino. The treasure of the gold jewellery recovered from Mandi is the largest so far found in the Bronze Age Harappan civilization of South Asia.

ताम्� पात्रो� मे� रख� हु� स्वर्णाभूष� 'हृदयाकार' बड़े और छोटे कड़े, अन्तरक, संयोगी पे�, शंक्वाका� मनको�, आद� के रू� मे� हैं। स्वर्णाभूषणो� का यह संकल� मोहेनजादड़�, क्वेटा और अल्लाहदीनो के संकलनो� के तुल्� है� मांडी से प्राप्� स्वर्ण आभूष� दक्षिण एशिय� की कांस्य युगी� हड़प्प� सभ्यता से अभी तक प्राप्� विशालत� संपद� है�

māṃḍī se prāpta ābhūṣaṇa—jilā mujaphphara nagara (paścimī uttara pradeśa) ke prācīna sthala māṃḍī se haḍappā se saṃbaṃdhita anya vastuo� sahita barī saṃkhyā me� svarṇa ābhūṣaṇo� kī acānaka khoja se yaha sthala harappākālīna purātāttvika sthalo� me� prasiddha ho gayā hai| yahā se bahumūlya ratno� se nirmita ābhūṣaṇo� ke atirikta svarṇa aura rajata nirmita ābhūṣaṇa bhī pracura mātrā me� prāpta hue haiṃ| grāmīṇa logo� ko yaha saṃpadā kṛṣi kāryo� ke daurāna milī thī|

tamra patrom mem rakhe hue svarnabhushana 'hridayakara' bare aura chote kare, antaraka, samyogi peca, shamkvakara manakom, adi ke rupa mem haim| svarnabhushanom ka yaha samkalana mohenajadaro, kveta aura allahadino ke samkalanom ke tulya hai| mamdi se prapta svarna abhushana dakshina eshiya ki kamsya yugina harappa sabhyata se abhi taka prapta vishalatama sampada hai|
