: Shodhganga: Kasyapa Samhita—Text on Visha Chikitsa°Õ¾±°ì³Ù²¹³ÙÄå (तिकà¥à¤¤à¤¤à¤�) refers to a “pungent taste in the tongueâ€� and is a symptom caused by snake-bites (such as the Romamaṇá¸alÄ«-snakes), according to the KÄÅ›yapa SaṃhitÄ: an ancient Sanskrit text from the PÄñcarÄtra tradition dealing with both Tantra and Viá¹£acikitsÄ—an important topic from Ä€yurveda which deals with the study of Toxicology (Viá¹£avidyÄ or SarpavidyÄ).—Accordingly, the symptoms are described as follows: “Itching sensation. Diminishing vision, pungent taste in the tongue (³Ù¾±°ì³Ù²¹³ÙÄå), numbness in te knees, severe cold, high temperature and red complexion, heat in the region of the heart (High BP or cardiac arrest?) and falling of hairâ€�.
