: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English Translation³§±¹²¹°ùṇÄb³ó²¹ (सà¥à¤µà¤°à¥à¤£à¤¾à¤) refers to “having a golden colourâ€�, according to the ÅšivapurÄṇa 2.4.2 (“The birth of Åšiva’s sonâ€�).—Accordingly, after Åšiva spoke to the Gods: “Accepting this command with bent head Viṣṇu and the other gods immediately vomitted it out after duly remembering Åšiva the imperishable. The semen of Åšiva lustrous and golden in colour (²õ±¹²¹°ùṇÄb³ó²¹) falling on the ground seemed to touch the heaven as it was as huge as a mountainâ€�.

The Purana (पà¥à¤°à¤¾à¤�, purÄṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences.
