: Wisdom Library: Var膩ha-pur膩峁嘺艢腻濒尘补濒颈诲惫墨辫补 (啶多ぞ啶侧啶げ啶苦う啷嵿さ啷�啶�) is one of the seven islands (诲惫墨辫补), ruled over by Dyutim膩n, one of the ten sons of Priyavrata, according to the 痴补谤腻丑补辫耻谤腻峁嘺 chapter 74. Priyavrata was a son of Sv膩yambhuva Manu, who was created by Brahm膩, who was in turn created by N膩r膩ya峁嘺, the unknowable all-pervasive primordial being.

There are seven mountains there which produce gems and they are seven boundaries which separate the regions. Just like this, there are also seven rivers there. The seven rivers are Yoni, Toy膩, Vit峁涐箛膩, Candr膩, Mukt膩, Vimocan墨 and Nirv峁泃i. Mere remembrance of the seven rivers is sufficient to annihilate all sins. Here people divided into the four classes live. Brahmins, K峁triyas Vai艣yas and 艢奴dras here are called Kapilas, Aru峁嘺s, P墨tas and K峁涐梗峁嘺s. These devout people worship Vi峁ａ箛u in the form of V膩yu by sublime yaj帽as. Devas are ever present on this most beautiful island. A tree named S膩lmali which gives mental comfort grows in this island. It is also known as plainly 艢膩lmali or as 艢膩lma诲惫墨辫补. These continents are located above the seven 辫腻迟腻濒补蝉 and may contain even more sub-continents within them, are round in shape, and are encircled within seven concentric oceans.
According to the Par膩khya-tantra, 鈥渂eyond that is the continent 艢膩lmal墨, where the silk-cotton tree grows in which tree the gods, together with the god of Love, resided when frightened by the demons. Beyond that is the ocean called Sugar-cane juice, where the creator put a great deal of juice from the sugar cane to give pleasure to sages鈥�.
