: Journey to Nibbana: Patthana DhamaSampaticchana is made up of sam which means well and paticchana which means receiving.
So sampaticchana citta is well receiving consciousness that receives the object transferred by the former citta which arose just before its arising.
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
