Ratnagiri (啶班い啷嵿え啶椸た啶班た) is the name of an Ayurvedic recipe defined in the fourth volume of the Rasajalanidhi (chapter 2, dealing with jvara: fever). These remedies are classified as Iatrochemistry and form part of the ancient Indian science known as Rasa艣膩stra (medical alchemy). However, as an ayurveda treatment, it should be taken twith caution and in accordance with rules laid down in the texts.

Accordingly, when using such recipes (e.g., ratna-giri-rasa): 鈥渢he minerals (uparasa), poisons (惫颈峁), and other drugs (except herbs), referred to as ingredients of medicines, are to be duly purified and incinerated, as the case may be, in accordance with the processes laid out in the texts.鈥� (see introduction to Iatro chemical medicines)

1) Ratnagiri (啶班い啷嵿え啶椸た啶班た) or Ratnagirirasa refers to one of the topics discussed in the 惭补诲丑耻尘补迟墨, a Sanskrit manuscript ascribed to N峁泂i峁僪a Kavir膩ja collected in volume 12 of the catalogue 鈥淣otices of Sanskrit Manuscripts (second series)鈥� by Mahamahopadhyaya Haraprasad Shastri.鈥擳he 惭补诲丑耻尘补迟墨 manuscript, consisting of 5,586 艣濒辞办补蝉 (metrical verses), is housed in Dhaka with Babu Bhagavancandra Dasa Kaviraja. It seemingly addresses topics related to Medicinal, Herbal, and Iatrochemical preparations. The catalogue includes the term Ratnagiri-rasa in its 鈥榮ubject-matter list鈥� or Vi峁ya (which lists topics, chapters and technical terms). The complete entry reads鈥�谤补迟苍补驳颈谤颈谤补蝉补惫颈诲丑腻苍补尘.

3) Ratnagiri (啶班い啷嵿え啶椸た啶班た) or Ratnagirirasa also refers to one of the topics discussed in the 驰辞驳腻尘峁泃补, a large Ayurvedic compilation dealing with the practice of medicine and therapeutics authored by Gop膩la Sena, Kavir膩ja, of Dv膩randh膩. It is dated to the 18th century and contains 11,700 艣濒辞办补蝉.鈥擳he complete entry reads: 谤补迟苍补驳颈谤颈谤补蝉补岣� .
