: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammar1) Putra� (पुत्रट�).—The word पुत्� (putra) as given in the ancient list of masculine words marked with the mute letter ट् (�) to signify the addition of the fem. affix � (ī) (ङीप् (ṅīp)): cf. P. IV.1.15:
2) Putra�.—The substitute पुत्रट� (ٰܳ�) (i. e. पुत्री (ٰܳī)) for the word दुहितृ (ܳ�) optionally prescribed after the words सू�, उग्र, रा�, भो�, कु� (ūٲ, ugra, Ჹ, bhoja, kula) and मेरु (meru) in the simple sense of 'girl' and not ' daughter ' e. g. राजपुत्री, सूतपुत्री (Ჹٰܳī, ūٲٰܳī); cf. P.VI.3.70 . 9.

Vyakarana (व्याकर�, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
