Source: Wisdom Library: N膩峁瓂a-艣膩straPriyavacana (啶啶班た啶さ啶氞え, 鈥渇riendly speech鈥�) refers to one of the thirty-six 鈥渃haracteristic features鈥� (濒补办峁峁嘺) of perfect 鈥榩oetic compositions鈥� (办腻惫测补产补苍诲丑补) and 鈥榙ramatic compositions鈥� (诲峁浥泍补办腻惫测补, or simply 办腻惫测补). It is also known as Priyokti. According to the N膩峁瓂a艣膩stra chapter 17, these thirty-six 濒补办峁峁嘺s act as instructions for composing playwrights. The term is used throughout 苍腻峁瓂补艣腻蝉迟谤补 literature.
Natyashastra (啶ㄠぞ啶熰啶ざ啶距じ啷嵿い啷嵿ぐ, 苍腻峁瓂补艣腻蝉迟谤补) refers to both the ancient Indian tradition (shastra) of performing arts, (natya鈥攖heatrics, drama, dance, music), as well as the name of a Sanskrit work dealing with these subjects. It also teaches the rules for composing Dramatic plays (nataka), construction and performance of Theater, and Poetic works (kavya).

The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., 峁峁�-辫腻谤补尘颈迟腻 and priyavacana). The work is attributed to Nagarjuna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.
