: Brill: 艢aivism and the Tantric Traditions (tantric Buddhism)笔谤补诲丑腻苍腻蝉补苍补 (啶啶班ぇ啶距え啶距じ啶�) refers to the 鈥減rincipal seat鈥�, according to the N膩mamantr膩rth膩valokin墨 by Vil膩savajra, which is a commentary on the N膩masa峁僩墨ti.鈥擜ccordingly, [while describing Mah膩vairocana]鈥斺�淎nd then [the S膩dhaka should visualise] Mah膩vairocana on the principal seat (辫谤补诲丑腻苍腻蝉补苍补), generated by means of the syllable 腻岣�. [Why has he four faces?] Since consciousness鈥攚hich is of the nature of the Dharma-Sphere since, by its nature, it lacks such forms as the grasped [i.e., the subject-object duality]鈥攊s four-faced. [This is] because the four liberation faces [/doors]鈥攅mptiness and the rest鈥攁re the cause of the origination of all meditative concentrations, [and this in turn is] because their ground is the Dharma-Sphere. [...]鈥�.
