These copper plates (mentioning N膩gadevaiya) were discovered in 1956 while digging the ground between the Church and the District Office at 峁琱膩峁嚹�, the chief town of the 峁琱膩峁嚹� District in Mah膩r膩峁ａ弓ra. Its object is to record the grant, by the 艢il膩h膩ra Mummu峁噄r膩ja, of some villages and lands to learned Br膩hma峁嘺s on the occasion of the lunar eclipse on the fifteenth tithi of the bright fortnight of Ph膩lguna in the 艢aka year 970, the cyclic year being Sarvadh膩rin.
