Leppa (लेप्�) (or Leppakamma) refers to “images made of plaster�.—Images of Tīrthaṃkaras were made of stones, metals, wood, clay, precious gems, jewels or semi-precious stones. Speaking about ٳԲ or installation of a symbol for a Guru during his absence, the Jaina canonical text Anuyogadvāra-sūtra says that it may be made of wood, stucco-work, painting, plaster (leppa-kamma), flower-work or knitting, or prepared by wrapped cloth or stuffed cast, repousse or beaten metal work.
