: archive.org: Epigraphia Indica Vol. 1 (1892)Kum膩ranandi (啶曕啶ぞ啶班え啶ㄠ啶︵た) is the name of a Br膩hman mentioned in the Pallava grant of king 艢ivaskandavarman. His name can also be spelled as Kum膩rana峁僤i. He is als known as Kum膩ranandin. The Pr膩krit Pallava king 艢ivaskandavarman of K膩帽c墨, who was affiliated to the Brahmanical gotra of the Bh膩radv膩jas, confirmed and enlarged, in the eighth year of his reign, a donation, made formerly by the great king, the lord Bappa (i.e., probably his father), to certain Brahmans (e.g., Kum膩ranandi), who resided at 膧pi峁弓i or 膧pi峁弓墨, and were bhojakas, i.e., probably freeholders of the vilalge Chillarekako岣島峁僰a or Chillerekako岣島峁僰a.
According to the 4th century Pallava grant, 鈥�... and we grant here an immunity (viz.) the garden in Chillarekako岣島峁僰a, which was formerly given by the great king, the lord Bappa, a giver of many krors of gold and of one hundred thousand ox-ploughs,鈥攚hile he made (the gift) a means of the increase of the merit, longevity, power and fame of (his) own family and race 鈥攖o the Br膩hmans, freeholders of Chillarekako岣島峁僰a (and) inhabitants of 膧pi峁弓i, (viz.) ... to the four brothers Kum膩rana峁僤i/Kum膩ranandi (Kum膩ranandin), Kum膩rasama (Kum膩ra艣arman), Ko峁弓asama (Ko峁弓a艣arman) and Satti (艢akti) of the Kosika (Kau艣ika) gotra four shares of the produce ...鈥�
