: archive.org: Jaina Yoga碍丑别濒濒耻岣峚 (啶栢啶侧啶侧啶�) in both Sanskrit and Prakrit refers to an unknown plant species. This plant is classifed as 补苍补苍迟补-办腻测补, or 鈥減lants that are inhabited by an infinite number of living organisms鈥�, and therefore are abhak峁a (forbidden to consume) according to Nemicandra (in his Pravacana-s膩roddh膩ra v245-246). Those plants which are classified as 补苍补苍迟补-办腻测补s (e.g., 办丑别濒濒耻岣峚) seem to be chosen because of certain morphological peculiarities such as the possession of bulbs or rhizomes orthe habit of periodically shedding their leaves; and in general theyare characterized by possibilities of vegetative reproduction.
