Vaishnavism (Vaishava dharma)
: Acta Orientalia vol. 74 (2013): Historical sequence of the Vai峁ａ箛ava Divya诲别艣补蝉Ka峁璱kai (C艒岣穒峁卥ar, C艒岣穒峁卥apuram or C艒岣穉ci峁卥apuram) refers to one of the 108 Vaishnava Divya Desam (诲颈惫测补诲别艣补蝉 or divyasthalas), located in the topographical division of To峁囜弓ain膩峁璾 (鈥淣orthern Tamil Nadu鈥�), according to the 9th century N膩l膩yirativviyappirapantam (shortly N膩l膩yiram).鈥擳radition would record the Vai峁ａ箛ava 诲颈惫测补诲别艣补蝉 or divyasthalas are 108. The 诲颈惫测补诲别艣补 is a base of the cult of Vi峁ａ箛u in Vi峁ａ箛uism [Vai峁ａ箛avism] tradition. The list of 108 [viz., Ka峁璱kai] seems to have reached maturation by about the early 9th century CE as all the 诲别艣补蝉 are extolled in the hymns of the twelve 膧岣籿膩rs.
Vaishnava (啶掂啶粪啶｀さ, vai峁ａ箛ava) or vaishnavism (vai峁ａ箛avism) represents a tradition of Hinduism worshipping Vishnu as the supreme Lord. Similar to the Shaktism and Shaivism traditions, Vaishnavism also developed as an individual movement, famous for its exposition of the dashavatara (鈥榯en avatars of Vishnu鈥�).

No Mulavigraha at the bottom of the hill and the Utsavamurti is Bhaktavatsala Perumal. On the hill top, the temple is for Yoga-Narasimha. The temple is associated with sage Visvamitra who stayed here for a katikai (fraction of time) to attain moksa.
The Purana (啶啶班ぞ啶�, pur膩峁嘺s) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India鈥檚 vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
