General definition (in Hinduism)
: Apam Napat: Indian MythologyWhen the ocean of milk in Vaikunta was churned by Devas and the Asuras, there were many great things that came out of the ocean. The divine tree Kalpatharu is one of them. It is capable of granting any wish, and is now the property of Indra, the King of the Devas. In this respect, it is similar to Kamadhenu, the wish granting cow.
Kalpatharu is also known as Parijatha in some texts. Its flowers are said to have an intoxicating fragnance.
