Devarasa (देवर�) is the father of (1794-1868 C.E.): a poet of both Kannada and Sanskrit literature flourished in the court of the famous Kṛṣṇarāja Woḍeyar of Mysore. ñṇḍ’s father was Devarasa and mother Naṅjāmbikā. He was named as ñṇḍ according to his mother’s name. He also says that he belongs to the famous Vīraśaiva sect, which is very famous. He introduces himself as a Sārasvata devotee, when he describes the valor of king Kṛṣṇarāja in this text. He praises his family preceptor (kulaguru) Reṇukācārya as an exponent of Śaivism.
