: archive.org: Puranic Encyclopedia颁补迟耻谤迟丑墨惫谤补迟补 (啶氞い啷佮ぐ啷嵿ぅ啷�啶掂啶班い).鈥擜 fast undertaken so that one may be happy for one year, may achieve all desires and attain 艢ivaloka. While observing this fast one should worship Ga峁嘺pati on the fourth day after New Moon (Caturth墨) in the month of Makara (February-March). Next day the fast should be broken by eating cooked rice and oil seeds. The M奴lamantra of Ga峁嘺pati is 'ga峁� sv膩h膩'; h峁沝ay膩di峁岣峚峁単as beginning with 'gam'. '膧gacch膩tik膩ya' is the 膩v膩hana mantra and 'Gacch膩tik膩ya' the visarjana mantra. Ga峁嘺pati should be worshipped with mantras ending with 'tu峁卥膩ya' and beginning with 'gak膩ra' as also with offering of sandal paste, rice balls etc. "O峁� Mahotk膩y膩ya vidmahe vakratu峁囜笉膩ya dh墨mahi tanno dant墨 pracoday膩t" is the Ga峁噀艣a g膩yatr墨 mantra. He or she who performs the Caturth墨 vrata will attain 艢ivaloka. If Ga峁嘺pati is worshipped on a Tuesday which is also Caturth墨 the devotee will get all his desires satisfied. Caturth墨 occurring in M墨na (March-April) is called Avighnacaturth墨, and that day fasting should be in the night. On Caturth墨 in April-May Ga峁嘺pati should be worshipped with damanaka flowers, and then the worshipper will become very happy. (Agni Pur膩峁嘺, Chapter 179). Also see Vin膩yaka Caturth墨.
