: What is India: Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy (1945-1952)Bogolu is an archaeologically important site situated in Cumbum-taluk (Kurnool district, Madras), known for inscriptions regarding the ancient history of India. For example, at Bogolu there is a slab set up in a field to the west of the village which states that Bhogavolu Re岣嶀笉i, son of Yell膩 Re岣嶀笉i and grandson of Che峁単i Re岣嶀笉i of the M膩ntakola gotra, constructed a tank, well, garden and the 艢iva temple. It is dated 艢aka 1534.
