ḍaṭa (अडवट) [or �, ṭha].—n An unsquared piece of timber; a rough beam. 2 A cross beam or a bar; a timber laid or fixed crosswise. 3 m The central portion of a natha (nose-ring),--the string or stem bearing the three gems (viz. two pearls and one ruby). 4 n The threads crossing the warp, the weft or woof. 5 n The middle slip of a ōṇ� or bullock grain-sack, running betwixt its two mouths. 6 n A pole running across (behind) the wheels of a cart, as a sort of lock-wheel (on descending a hill). The wheels rub against it.
