Traces of Mysticism in Jainism (Study)

Subsequent chapters delve into the mystical aspects of Brahmanic and Shramanic literature, analyzing texts from the Shvetambara and Digambara traditions to unearth traces of Jain mysticism.

In the µþ°ùÄå³ó²¹³¾²¹á¹‡i³¦ tradition or Hinduism, the concept of mysticism is wider and deeper sense. The central force here is that of spiritualism and intuionalism. God, i.e., Brahman, the Ultimate Reality, is the Heart of Hindu mysticism. The Supreme Reality, its relationship with the nature, individual self and creation and life various processes to attain oneness with supreme. God the ultimate reality to be realized is attached here not to the critical intelligence but to the inner consciousness. The literature explores that God the ultimate reality is the Supreme Spirit that is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. He is the mystery of creation and goal of realization.

All the efforts on the part of mystic aspirant is to have the realisation or identification of Supreme Self which is consequent upon mystic way of ÂáñÄå²Ô²¹, or µþ³ó²¹°ì³ÙÄ« or Karma. This revelation of Brahman is expressed as ineffable, experience of mystic. It is the state where the mystic attains immortality and abode of infinite bliss; it experiences, the universal consciousness by dissolution of individual consciousness and this mystical state leads to the revelation of mystical creation and mystical creator.

By understanding Vedic literature one can understand his relationship with the supreme reality of Godhead, by performing the different processes one can approach Him and at the end one can attain the supreme goal, which is not other than the supreme personality of Godhead. Bhagavad GÄ«tÄ the purpose of the Vedas, the understanding of the Vedas and the goal of the Vedas are clearly defined.
