THE PASSING AWAY OF DR. STELLA BROWNING: tc "THE PASSING AWAY OF DR. STELLA BROWNING\:"tc ""A LAMENTtc "A LAMENT"
Dr. (Mrs.) H. Tulsi
When news harshly smote my ears: “No more is she,
Its import made no impact on me immediately,
Benumbed as I verily was! For had I not,
Not long ago, her long and loving letter got?
But confirmation coming from different sources three,
Its terrible truth finally forced itself on me:
‘Renowned, revered poet, Dr. Stella, has really
Left us all forever, most unexpectedly!
Her kith and kin and fellow poets too may find
Some solace, true, from her writings left behind.
But, for Metverse Muse, fallen is a great
Pillar of strength, which none can ever recreate.
For hadn’t she, its cause, concretely espoused
From ´Ú´Ç³Ü²Ô»å²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô’s stage? She had also roused,
Toiling hard, spiritual stirrings in mankind.
By granting rest eternal, has God been cruelly kind?
Her heart had always yearned to earn profound peace
Which now, at last, is hers—having found release
From this war-torn world. Freed from mortal coil,
Transplanted is her life-plant in supernal soil!
Your very name, dear ‘Stella, is a Latin word for “Star.
Where among the countless astral bodies far
Are you? To help us spot you won’t you, pray,
Substitute Lucifer as the ‘Morning Star each day?
