How long engulfed by misty Illusion,
How long hurtled by hazy Hallucination,
How long clutched by crazy Confusion,
How long drowned in deep Depression
must we remain. O Lord?
How long Thy Love’s and Light’s negation,
How long Thy denial of emancipation,
How long Thy reluctance. Thy hesitation
To allow us to travel towards Thy station
will there be, O Lord?
When can we make at least a small start
To merit Thy Grace and win Thy Heart?
We are quite prepared to play our own part
In the role given us: but we know not the art.
Teach us then, O Lord.
How to dispel our darkness and gloom,
How to find in Thy Heart some room,
To sweep away dross, Thy Love as broom,
Thy LIGHT as sponge to mop away doom.
Please send us, O Lord.
Thy LOVE and LIGHT can teach mankind
How, to all creatures, to be generous and kind.
Thy LOVE and LIGHT can enlarge our mind
And help ignorant folk to finally find
the PEACE we need, O Lord.
