He came!
I went in search of Him!
It was darkness still,
The wavering star-light was dim,
The morning had not yet set in.
I knew not the Way,
My feet nonchalantly trode,
Guided by Pole Star’s solitary ray
I wandered alone on the road!
He came, I knew not whence,
And asked me to show Him the way;
He smiled in the darkness
While I led Him on my way!
At cross roads I showed Him
The path He was to wend,
Then I parted from Him,
And in opposite direction I went.
Daylight burst will the sung of birds,
And the East was lined with a rosy rim;
In my heart were whispered the words
“You have rubbed shoulders with Him!�
