ʰ (Braces):

The , or braces, is another moulding of the entablature. It is place above the ᲹԲ and associated with ś (tenons) at its top and bottom parts. The plays a significant role similar to that of struts (ⲹ岹). Maya prescribes that the height of the should be measured as one 岹ṇḍ, and the diameter should be calculated as a quarter or a third of its height. The top of the should be decorated like an elephant’s trunk, joining with the kumbha (bell capital) and ṇḍ (abacus).

ٲṇḍ (consoles):

ٲṇḍ is another moulding of the column. According to the 峾岵 text, this is the fifth moulding from the top of the entablature. According to Maya, this moulding should be arranged above the , and the width of the 岹ṇḍ is to be measured as half of the pillar’s width, with a thickness calculated as a quarter of the pillar’s width, equal to one 岹ṇḍ (module). Therefore, it is called 岹ṇḍ. Maya suggests that the 岹ṇḍ moulding should be designed in the shape of ṣṭԻ and should have a square section.
