Historical Elements in the Matsya Purana

Candra Community
There are also some references to the Candra dynasty in the Matsya 笔耻谤腻峁嘺 . For example鈥揕ord 痴颈峁ａ箛耻 is worshiped in the name of Candra in the 搁辞丑颈苍墨肠补苍诲谤补艣补测补苍补 vow (MP-57/3). Candravrata has also been mentioned (MP-101/75). In the Matsya 笔耻谤腻峁嘺鈥檚 23rd chapter, the birth of Soma is mentioned which is the form of the Candra .
Buddhist
It is noteworthy that the Matsya 笔耻谤腻峁嘺 also considers the Buddha to be an incarnation of Lord 痴颈峁ａ箛耻. Buddha is mentioned in many chapters of the Matsya 笔耻谤腻峁嘺 (MP-47/247, 54/19, 285/7).
