This essay contains an English study of the Gita-Govinda by Jayadeva and the 鈥淜ishore Chandrananda Champu鈥� by Kabisurya Baladev. The Gitagovinda is a Sanskrit Kavya poem of 12th century composed by Jayadeva whereas The 鈥淜ishore Chandrananda Champu鈥� was written in the 18th century and was intended for a connection between the medieval poetry and modern literature.

Chapter-III shows the background and plot content of
Ki艣oracandr膩nandacamp奴 with a brief note on the tradition of
Vai峁ａ箛avism in O岣峣sh膩 and the narration of camp奴 and its
characters.
Chapter-IV provides the critical and musical estimate of
Ki艣oracandr膩nandacamp奴. It estimates the poetic talent and the
linguistic skill of the poet.
Chapter-V deals with the comparative analysis of literary merits of
both the poems. It shows the stylistic, linguistic and rhetorical
comparison of the two works.
Chapter-VI presents the comparative analysis of musical potentials
of both the works.
Chapter-VII contains the influence of both the poems in the field of
art and the conclusion.
For providing assistance to the readers of the non-Sanskrit
knowing category, the Glossary of technical terms along with their
meanings has been given separately towards the end of the thesis
which is followed by the Appendices which contain the basic texts
of Ki艣oracandr膩nandacamp奴, and another Sanskrit compositions of
Baladeva Ratha.
The Bibliography consists of the names of the works consulted
with their corresponding authors or editor(s) and the year of
publications and the name of the publishing agencies as well.
