made as having four hands, in the two left hands will be a book and a
lotus, in the right hand will be the Varada mudra and a rosary
332 Sarasvati as Nīla Sarasvati is as follows - She is seated
on a corpse, and is adorned by snakes as ornaments. She has four
hands and holds the following in them a scissor, a skull, a cup and a
trident together and in the fourth hand holds a garland of humān
heads.
Worship.
The goddess Sarasvati is to be meditated upon as being
present on invocation and offered worship, she is invoked as being
present on either of the following on a yantra, or on a Sailgram, or in
an image or the Bundling or the on the Sun. The Goddess imagined
thus is to be worshipped³33.
Worshippers.
334 Sarasvati's worship is said to be first introduced in Bharata
by Śrī-Kṛṣṇa³³4, She is reference to as the holder of the lute. It
mentions that Sarasvati is amorous by nature, sprang from the lips of
Rādhā and so desired to marry Krsna out of amorous feelings. He
directs her to go to Vaikunta and get the lord of Vaikunta as her
husband.
