10.2. Wearing of ring in the Anamika finger
[Full title: (F) The distinctive ritualistic features; (I) The necessary ingredients of ritual Darbha, Pavitra, Kurca etc. (1) Enumeration of seven kinds of Darbhas].
It is prescribed that the ring (whether of gold or of kusa etc.) should always be worn in the finger next to the smallest one (anamika). The reason is also pointed out for such a use. The wearing of it, on the thumb, the tarjani (finger near the thumb), the middle one, & the smallest one brings about the loss of father, loss of oneself, loss of son & all kinds of calamities,
