This study deals with the Concept of Creation according to the Major Upanishads—ancient Indian scriptures that form a crucial part of Vedic literature and Indian philosophy. The present research investigates the Upanisadic philosophy in general as well as the school of Advaita Vedanta and other Indian philosophical traditions that incorporate Upanishadic teachings.

Sometimes the physical creation is regarded as four types. 1. Jarāyuja- born from the womb; viviparous beings. 2. Andaja- born from an egg; oviparous beings, birds, etc. 3. Usmaja or Svedaja- generated by warm vapour or sweat; insects, etc. 4. Udbhijja- plant kingdom. Anything or every thing related in these classes. Creation in Āraṇyakas The Āraṇyakas are give an account of the creation. The Ait. Ār. gives a clear idea of creation of the universe from the primordial cosmic man तस्य वाचा सृष्टे पृथिवी चाग्निश्� प्राणेनसृष्टावन्तरीक्षं � वायुश्� चक्षुष� सृष्टी द्यौश्चादिश्� श्रात्रे� सृष्टा दिशश्च चन्द्रमाश्� मनसा सृष्टा आपश्� वरुणश्� [tasya vācā sṛṣṭe pṛthivī cāgniśca prāṇenasṛṣṭāvantarīkṣa� ca vāyuśca cakṣuṣ� sṛṣṭ� dyauścādiśca śrātreṇa sṛṣṭ� diśaśca candramāśca manasā sṛṣṭ� āpaśca varuṇaśca ] 34 According to this Āraṇyaka 'by His speech are created earth
and fire, by breath the sky and the air are created' by His eye are
created the heaven and the sun, by His ear were created the quarters
and the moon and by his mind were created the waters and Varuna.
