Ūܲٲ (spasticity of thigh) according to Caraka
Ѳṣi Caraka discusses disease of Ūܲٲ and treatment of Spasticity of thigh and Ūܲٲ-쾱ٲ. This is only disease where 貹ñ첹 is contradicted. Kapha associated with medas afflicts and pitta to cause spasticity of the thighs characterized by their stiffness and coldness because of which the ailment is called Ūܲٲ. The symptoms of Ūܲٲ are as follows: stiffness and coldness of thighs, lassitude of thighs, and incapability to move. The treatment of Ūܲٲ includes juices of Śārṅgeṣṭadi ūṇa, Aṣṭakaṭvara taila, application of master seeds pastes, exercise, jumping, swimming, intake of Ի徱 oil, Ჹīٲī, ʾ貹ī and honey etc. Diet includes barley, Ś峾첹, saltless green vegetables etc.[1]
