Ѳ󲹰ṣi Caraka discusses disease of Chardi and treatment of Vomiting and Chardicikitsā. Due to ٲ, pitta, kapha and ԲԾٲ and due to contact with disgusting things are produced five types of Chardi. The premonitory symptoms of Chardi are as follows: Nausea, excessive salivation, and hateful disposition towards food. There are five types of Chardi, namely, پ첹 chardi (caused by ), Paittika chardi (caused by pitta), Khapaja chardi (caused by kapha), Sānnipātika chardi (caused by all three ṣa), and Dviṣṭārtha-yogaja-chardi (caused by the contact unwanted objects). If vomitus contains faeces, and urine, associated with cough, dyspnoea and thirst, then he is incurable. If severe vomiting in a weak person, associated with blood and pus, then he is incurable. If Vomiting which has no complications, then he is curable.

The general treatment of Chardi includes lightening measures and evacuative measures. Regarding the diet of Chardi patients it has been said: old rice, wheat, snake-gourd, ḍūcī, butter-milk, roots of Citraka. Use of formulations to cures of this disease, namely, ṇa-ҳṛt, հūṣaṇa-ҳṛt and īīⲹ-ҳṛt, juice of Āī, etc.[1]
