Story of ṣaԲ
General information.
(i) A King who was the grandson of īṣi and son of ʲīṣi. For genealogy see 'ʲīṣi'.
(ii) Ugrasena, Citrasena, Indrasena, ṣeṇa and īԲ were his brothers. (Chapter 94, Ādi Parva).
Other details.
(i) ṣaԲ was a member of the court of Yama. (Chapter 8, Parva).
(ii) ṣaԲ was considered to be one among the pious souls, like Ś, Pratardana, Rantideva, īṣa, Janamejaya, Vṛṣādarbhi, ʲśܰ峾, Śrī Rāma, Karandhama and Mitrasaha who had attained salvation by their charity and righteousness. Ѳٲ states that ṣaԲ the saintly king attained salvation by presenting gifts to the great ղṣṭ. (Śǰ첹 14, Chapter 137, ԳśԲ Parva).
