This page describes Yatra Parikrama (pilgrimages) (2): Vaishveshvari Yatra which is chapter 100b of the English translation of the Skanda Purana, the largest of the eighteen Mahapuranas, preserving the ancient Indian society and Hindu traditions in an encyclopedic format, detailling on topics such as dharma (virtous lifestyle), cosmogony (creation of the universe), mythology (itihasa), genealogy (vamsha) etc. This is the zeroth chapter 100b of the Uttarardha of the Kashi-khanda of the Skanda Purana.
Chapter 100b - 驰腻迟谤腻 Parikrama (pilgrimages) (2): Vai艣ve艣var墨 驰腻迟谤腻
Thereafter Vai艣ve艣var墨 驰腻迟谤腻 (Pilgrimage to 痴颈艣惫别艣惫补谤补) should be performed. This bestows the achievement of all objectives.
42. Then the pilgrimage to the fourteen 膧测补迟补苍补蝉 should be duly performed beginning with the first lunar day in the dark half and ending with the fourteenth.
43-47. Or the pilgrimage can be performed on every fourteenth lunar day by the people who desire the mastery of the holy spot. A pilgrim obtains the benefit if he takes bath in the different 罢墨谤迟丑补蝉, worships the different 尝颈峁単补蝉 and observes silence while travelling. He will visit (1) 翱峁僰腻谤补 at the outset after performing aquatic rites in 惭补迟蝉测辞诲补谤墨. Then he should go to (2) 罢谤颈惫颈峁ａ弓补辫补, (3) 惭补丑腻诲别惫补, then (4) 碍峁泃迟颈惫腻蝉补蝉, (5) 搁补迟苍别艣补, (6) then Candre艣a and then (7) 碍别诲腻谤补, then he should go to (8) 顿丑补谤尘别艣惫补谤补, (9) V墨re艣a, and (10) 碍腻尘别艣惫补谤补. Then (11) Vi艣vakarme艣vara, then (12) Ma峁噄kar峁嚹泇ara. After seeing (13) 础惫颈尘耻办迟别艣惫补谤补 he will worship 痴颈艣惫别艣补 (14) This pilgrimage should be assiduously performed by a resident of the holy spot.
48. If someone stays in the holy spot but does not perform this pilgrimage, he will be beset with obstacles indicating expulsion from the holy spot.
