सद्य� पतति मांसेन लाक्षय� लवणे� � �
त्र्यहेण शूद्रो भवति ब्राह्मण� क्षीरविक्रयात् � ९२ �

sadya� patati māṃsena lākṣayā lavaṇena ca |
tryaheṇa śūdro bhavati brāhmaṇa� kṣīravikrayāt || 92 ||

By selling meat, lac and salt, the 󳾲ṇa becomes an outcast at once; and by selling milk the 󳾲ṇa becomes a Śū in three days.�(92)

This verse is quoted in Ѿṣa (3.40);—i ʲś󲹱 (Ācāra p. 422);—in 貹첹 (p. 934), where it is pointed out that this refers to a 󳾲ṇa who has not performed the requisite expiatory rites;—again on p. 1046;—in ṛtٲٳٱ (p. 353)—in Ѳ岹Բٲ (p. 232);—in ṃsū (p. 124);—in ṛsṃh岹 (Āhnika 36b) and in ʰⲹśٳٲ첹 (p. 427), which says that only strong deprecation is what is meant
