The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.8.239, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 239 of Madhya-khanda chapter 8—“The Manifestation of Opulences�.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.8.239:

নিযামক বা� নাহি, তাতে আছ� বা� এত-দিনে সঙ্গ-দোষে ঠেকি� নিমাঞি� � ২৩� �

नियामक बा� नाहि, ताते आछ� बा� एत-दिने सङ्ग-दोषे ठेकि� निमाञि� � २३� �

Ծ峾첹 bāpa nāhi, tāte āche 徱 eta-dine saṅga-doṣe ṭhekila nimāñi� || 239 ||

niyamaka bapa nahi, tate ache bai eta-dine sanga-dose thekila nimani� (239)

English translation:

(239) “He does not have a father to guide Him, and He is afflicted by gastric disorders. Now Nimāi has become affected by bad association.�

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

The word Ծ峾첹 means “a guide� or “a director.�

“Nimāi does not have a guiding father or guardian. Moreover, He is afflicted by gastric disorders. Therefore some bad elements have induced Him to act unjustly.�

The word (derived from ) means “gastric disorders,� “madness,� or “insanity.�
