The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 1.1.15-17, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. शु�-देवोपदेशेन निहताशेष-साध्वसम् �
सम्यक्-प्राप्�-समस्तार्थं श्री-कृष्�-प्रे�-संप्लुतम� � १५ �
सन्निकृष्ट-निजाभीष्�-पदारोह�-कालकम् �
श्रीमत�-परीक्षितं माता तस्यार्त� कृष्�-तत्परा � १६ �
विरा�-तनयैकान्ते’पृच्छद् एतन् नृपोत्तमम् �
प्रबोध्यानन्दिता ते� पुत्रे� स्ने�-सम्प्लुत� � १७ �śrī-jaiminir uvāca�
śuka-devopadeśena nihatāśeṣa-sādhvasam |
samyak-prāpta-samastārtha� śrī-kṛṣṇa-prema-saṃplutam || 15 ||

śrīmat-parīkṣita� mātā tasyārtā kṛṣṇa-tatparā || 16 ||
virāṭa-tanayaikānte’pṛcchad etan nṛpottamam |
ǻԲԻ徱 tena putreṇa sneha-samplutā || 17 ||Śī Jaimini said: O best of kings, the instructions of Śī Śܰ첹𱹲 eradicated all the fears of Śī ʲīṣi. Having reaped all the fruits of the four mundane goals of human life (piety, wealth, desire and emanci pation), he absorbed himself in the loving mellows of Śī ṛṣṇa.
As the time came to ascend to his desired destination of Śī Goloka, the daughter of King վٲ and fond mother, Śī ٳٲī, cried out in grief to her son ʲīṣi. Even so, being consoled and pleased by her son, she anxiously asked about hearing related topics of Śī ṛṣṇa.

Śī Jaimini begins to please Śī Janameyaja by expounding on the favorable topics that Śī ٳٲ asks about in the following conversation with her son ʲīṣi (uttarā-parīkṣit samvāda).
Śī Jaimini said: “O exalted ѲᲹ Janamejaya, ʲīṣi’s mother, Śī ٳٲ-ī, asked about the instructions of Śī Śܰ첹𱹲, the venerable son of Vedavyāsa. In other words, how did the narration of the -ܰṇa Śīmad-Bhāgavatam and the instructions imparted by Śī Sukadeva destroy all fears? What was the nature of those fears?�
His mother Śī ٳٲ-ī asked the illustrious King ʲīṣi, now absorbed in the flow of prema-rasa at Śī ṛṣṇa’s lotus feet, of the impending time to ascend to ղṇṭ from the fearful snakebite of ղṣa첹. Moreover, how had the fruits of the group of four, that is, dharma, artha, 峾 and ǰṣa, come so effortlessly due to the elimination of the constant fear of repeated birth and death? If pointed out that after Śī Śܰ첹𱹲 gave his instructions he went to ղṇṭ, then where was the time for him to return to his own realm and give a reply to the impending questions? Anticipating this, he speaks the verse beginning with ԲԾṛṣṭa. In the brief time after Śī Śܰ첹𱹲 leaves, before the ascendance of Śī ʲīṣi, his mother asks her questions and he replies—this is the line of thought here.
Due to the impending separation and grief of her son, she became anxious. In what manner did she inquire from her son then? She was kṛṣṇa tatparā, devotedly anxious to hear about the pastimes of Śī ṛṣṇa. Saying this, she asked about this most confidential topic in a solitary place. Nevertheless, if it is assumed she asks out of grief for her own parama bhāgavata son, how could she hear the answer to such a question? Furthermore, how will she be able to realize it? To allay these suspicions, he says ǻԲԻ徱, “consoled and pleased.� It was her own son ʲīṣi ѲᲹ who consoled her, instructing her with absolute knowledge (ٲٳٱ-ñԲ) on the deceptive nature of repeated birth, death and accompanying afflictions in this material world.
