P.IV.2.39, 40; (b) to the words राजन्य (ᲹԲⲹ) and others in the sense of 'inhabited country' ; e. g. राजन्यकः देवनायकः (ᲹԲⲹka� devanāyaka�) etc., cf. P. IV.2.53, (c) to the words headed by अरीहण (īṇa) such as द्वुघण, खदिर�, मैत्रायण, काशकृत्स्न (屹ܲṇa, khadir, ٰⲹṇa, śṛtԲ) etc. in the quadruple senses; e.g. आरीहणकम�, द्रौबणकम� (īṇa첹, ܲṇa첹), cf. 2) Vuñ.—Kṛt affix अक (aka) added to the roots निन्द् हिंस� (nind hiṃs) and others, and to the roots देव् (dev) and कृश् (ṛ�) with a prefix before,in the sense of a habituated, professional or skilled agent; e.g. निन्दक�, परिक्षेपकः, असूयकः, परिदेवकः, आक्रोशकः (ԾԻ岹첹�, 貹ṣe貹첹�, ūⲹ첹�, 貹𱹲첹�, ś첹�) etc. cf. P.III.2. 146, 147.

1) Vun (वुन्).—Kṛt affix अक (aka) added to the roots प्रु, सृ (pru, �), and लू (ū) in the sense of 'a skilled agent' and to any root in the sense of 'an agent who is blessed'; e.g. प्रवकः, सरकः, लवकः, जीवक� (첹�, 첹�, 첹�, ī첹�) (meaning जीवतात� (ī)) नन्दकः (ԲԻ岹첹�), (meaning नन्दतात् (ԲԻ岹)); cf. P. III. 1. 149, 150;
2) Vun.�tad. affix अक (aka) added to(a) the words क्रम (krama) and others in the sense of 'a student of'; e.g, क्रमकः, पदकः शिक्षक� मीमांसकः (첹�, padaka� śikṣaka� mīmāṃsaka�); cf. P.IV.2.61; (b) the words पूवीह्�, अपराह्� (ūīԲ, 貹ṇa) etc. as also the words पथिन� (pathin) and अमावास्य� (屹) in the sense of 'produced in': e.g. पूर्वाह्नक,पन्थ�, अमावास्य� (ūԲ첹, panthaka, 屹ⲹ첹); cf. P. IV.3. 28, 29, 30; (c) the words कलाप�, अश्वत्�, यव (첹辱, śٳٳ, yava) and बु� (busa) in the sense of 'debt paid at the time of', the words वासुदे� (ܻ𱹲) and अर्जुन (arjuna) in the sense of 'devoted to',and the dvandva compounds when the words so formed mean either 'enmity' or 'nuptial ties';e.g. कलापकम� (첹貹첹) (ऋणम् (ṛṇ)),यवकम� (yavakam) (ऋणम् (ṛṇ)) वासुदेवक�, अर्जुनकः, काकोलूकिका, कुत्सक�-शिकिका (ܻ𱹲ka�, ܲԲ첹�, kākoūkikā, ܳٲ-ś쾱); cf.P.IV.3.48, 98,125; (d) the words गोषद, इषेत्व (ṣa岹, ṣeٱ) etc. in the sense of 'containing' or 'possessing', and the word पथिन� (pathin) in the sense of 'expert' e.g. इषेत्वकः, पथकः (ṣeٱka�, 貹ٳ첹�); cf.P.V.2.62, 63; and (e) the words पा� (岹) and शत (śٲ) preceded by a numeral, in the sense of वीप्सा (ī), as also in the senses of दण्ड (岹ṇḍ) (fine) and व्यवसर्ग (vyavasarga) when those words are preceded by a numeral; e.g. द्विपदिकां (屹貹徱�) (ददात� (岹پ)), द्विशतिकां (屹śپ�) (ददात� (岹پ)), द्विपदिकां दाडितः (屹貹徱� dāḍita�); cf. Vyakarana (व्याकर�, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
