: Ancient Science of Life: Critical Review of Rasaratna Samuccayaվṣa첹貹 (विषकल्�) refers to “formulations prepared from poisonous drugs�, and mentioned in the Rasaratnasamuccaya: a 13th century C.E. alchemical treatise, authored by Vāgbhaṭa, is a useful compilation related to preparation and properties of drugs of mineral and metallic origin.—Last three chapters (28th to 30th) are extraordinary and in that each chapter represents treatment of many ailments through the use of specific drugs e.g., lauhakalpa (formulations of iron), ṣa첹貹 (formulations prepared from poisonous drugs) and 岹첹貹 (formulations of calcinated mercury).
