: Acta Orientalia vol. 74 (2013): Historical sequence of the Vai峁ａ箛ava Divya诲别艣补蝉Vatariy膩cciramam (Bhadrin膩tha) refers to one of the 108 Vaishnava Divya Desam (诲颈惫测补诲别艣补蝉 or divyasthalas), located in the topographical division of Va峁璦n膩峁璾 (鈥淣orth India鈥�), according to the 9th century N膩l膩yirativviyappirapantam (shortly N膩l膩yiram).鈥擳radition would record the Vai峁ａ箛ava 诲颈惫测补诲别艣补蝉 or divyasthalas are 108. The 诲颈惫测补诲别艣补 is a base of the cult of Vi峁ａ箛u in Vi峁ａ箛uism [Vai峁ａ箛avism] tradition. The list of 108 [viz., Vatariy膩cciramam] seems to have reached maturation by about the early 9th century CE as all the 诲别艣补蝉 are extolled in the hymns of the twelve 膧岣籿膩rs.
