峾 (वामविद्ध) refers to a one of the twenty ṇḍ, according to the Nāṭyaśāstra chapter 12. The 峾-ṇḍ is classified as a ś, or “aerial�, of which there are ten in total. A ṇḍ is a combination of ī (“dance-steps�), which refers refers to the simultaneous movement of the feet (), shanks (Ჹṅg) and the hip (ū). From these ī proceed dance as well as movements in general.

峾 (वामविद्ध).—A type of ṇḍ (series of ī) classified as aerial (ś);—IԲٰܳپDzԲ:

1) The right foot to be moved in the ūī-ī, the left foot in the 貹Գ-ī,
2a) The right foot in the 岹ṇḍ-ī and the left foot in the ūī-ī,
2b) the right foot in the ī (this by turning the trika) and the pārśvakrāntā-ī,
3) The left foot in the ṣi-ī and the right foot in the 岹ṇḍ and the ūrūdvṛttā-ī,
4) The left foot successively in the ūī, the ī (this by turning the trika) and the alātā-ī,
5) The right foot in the śԳ-ī and the left foot in the پԳ-ī.
