հṣaṣṭܱٲ (त्रिषष्टिकुलव्रत) refers to a type of Vrata (“observance�).—Accordingly, the Yoginīsaṃcāra requires anyone who has gone through its initiation ceremony and then received consecration (ṣe첹) to adopt one of three forms of ascetic observance in order to gain mastery over the Vidyā (屹ٲ): the Bhairavavrata, the Cāmuṇḍāvrata, or the հṣaṣṭܱٲ, the observance of the sixty-three families [of the Mothers], which it also calls the Kāpālavrata, i.e. the Kāpālika.
