Śśī (शैलेशी) refers to a type of meditation.—Śś� refers to the outward condition—complete absence of any movement. The fourteenth ṇaٳԲ, the fourth śܰԲ and śśī are all practically synonymous. They last only long enough for the utterance of five short vowels (a, i, u, �, �).

Śailesī (शैलेसी) in Sanskrit refers to the “last stage of the elimination of karman�, and represents a Jaina technical term mentioned in the վ󲹳īٳ󲹰첹貹 by Jinaprabhasūri (13th century A.D.): an ancient text devoted to various Jaina holy places (īٳ󲹲).�(Glasenapp 1915 p. 114).

Meru) [i.e., ī], whereby a houseless monk destroys the four remnants of Karman which even a Kevalin possesses; after that he obtains perfection, enlightenment, deliverance, and final beatitude, and puts an end to all misery�.
