Satyaketu (सत्यकेतु):—Son of Dharmaketu (son of Niketana). His son was called Dhṛṣṭaketu. (see Bhāgavata Purāṇa 9.17.8-9)

1) Satyaketu (सत्यकेतु).—A king of the Solar dynasty. He was the son of Dharmaketu and the father of Dhṛṣṭaketu. (Bhāgavata, Skandha 9).

2) Satyaketu (सत्यकेतु).—A king of Pāñcāla. Mention is made in Brahmāṇḍa Purāṇa, Śloka 73, of a Pāñcāla King Satyaketu who fought with Paraśurāma.

3) Satyaketu (सत्यकेतु).—A king belonging to the Pūru dynasty. This Satyaketu was the son of King Sukumāra. (Agni Purāṇa, Chapter 278).

Satyaketu (सत्यकेतु) is the name of a Buddha under whom Śākyamuni (or Gautama, ‘the historical Buddha�) acquired merit along the first through nine ū, according to the Ѳ屹ٳ. There are in total ten ū representing the ten stages of the Bodhisattva’s path towards enlightenment.

Satyaketu is but one among the 500 Buddhas enumerated in the Ѳ屹ٳ during a conversation between Mahākātyāyana and Mahākāśyapa, both principle disciples of Gautama Buddha. The Ѳ屹ٳ is an important text of the Lokottaravāda school of buddhism, dating from the 2nd century BCE.
