śԳپ岹 (सर्वशान्ति�) refers to “that which grants all tranquility�, according to the Netratantra of Kṣemarāja: a Śaiva text from the 9th century in which Śiva (Bhairava) teaches Pārvatī topics such as metaphysics, cosmology, and soteriology.—Accordingly, [verse 15.12-14ab, while describing the symbolic significance of mustard (seeds)]—“The Mantrin should offer the oblation that grants all tranquility (śԳپ岹) [with a] mixture of ghee, cow’s milk, ground white sugar, and sesame seeds when one has come under the control of death [or has been] attacked by evil spirits. Indeed, he should offer the highest red mustard together with black sesame sprinkled with three kinds of oils. Instantly, [this] produces the fruit of universal tranquility�.
