: Shodhganga: The significance of the m奴la-beras (艣ilpa)Nellai Murukan is the name of a deity depicted at the Nellaiappar Temple at Tirunelveli, representing a sacred place for the worship of 艢iva.鈥擳he devotee takes a right turn. To the left is the 膧k膩艣a Li峁単a. Then there is the Nellai Murukan sannidhi, where Murukan is found with four hands and Valli and Deiv膩nai on either side. The same iconographical features are seen for the god and goddesses as mentioned earlier in the Subrahma峁噛a sannidhi. From the sannidhi of Somasundarar to Nellai Murukan鈥檚 sannidhi is the 迟腻尘谤补-蝉补产丑腻 where 艢iva dances. Behind the 迟腻尘谤补-蝉补产丑腻 is the sannidhi of 艢r墨 Santh膩na Sabh膩pat墨 where the dancing Na峁璦r膩ja is found with Sage Vy膩grap膩da on the right and P膩rvat墨, Pata帽jali on the left. The postures of Na峁璦r膩ja are the same as described earlier under the Tillai Na峁璦r膩ja Temple.
